Dear Beloved,
A Happy Love Month to you. When we attended Sunday School, as children, my siblings and I sang this chorus, 'Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart Lord Jesus.' ' Come in today, come in to stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.' 'Out of my heart, out of my heart, shine out of my heart Lord Jesus.' 'Shine out today, shine out always, shine out of my heart Lord Jesus.' (Author unknown) As children, we did not know the full meaning of the words of this chorus, but we felt good about ourselves, when we sang it.
We have grown into an understanding of the song, as we grew older. We know, that the heart represents the love center, in our bodies. Apart from being the main organ of the Circulatory System, it is because of a good heart, that we can feel, and show love. The words of the Hymn, ' When I survey The Wondrous Cross', by Isaac Watts (1674 - 1748), reminds us of the true nature of love. In the fourth stanza, of this Hymn, the third and fourth lines say, ...'love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, and all.'
There is another saying that explains one of the characteristics of divine love. 'Perfect love casts out fear.' When we love everyone unconditionally, there is nothing to fear. When we are fearful, anxious, or worried, our heart beats faster than usual. In order to avoid this type of stress on the heart, we have to constantly think loving thoughts, and perform loving deeds.
Luke Chapter 6 and verse 45 says, 'A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.' 'For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.' This love month, and throughout the year, let us choose goodness. We say,' God is good all the time, and all the time God is good'. When we choose goodness, we are making a consciousness effort to link ourselves with God, through Jesus Christ, and hear directly from God, our Father.
God loves you, and so do I.
